Kitchen island Trends

ACCORDING TO DESIGNERS IN 2023

Your kitchen is more than a space to prepare meals. In 2023, it can be an entertainment area or a workplace. For this reason, we see the kitchen as art as much as a room for function. The kitchen island has grown in popularity since the 1950s, and they will likely be around for a while. This is why it’s an integral part of choosing to remodel your kitchen and deserves as much careful consideration as any other feature.

  1. Double Islands: A great example of a double island is in the photo below, showing a kitchen designed by Blackdog Builders Inc. This is growing in popularity as it doubles the counter space, improving kitchen functionality.

  2. Waterfall Edge The waterfall countertop, which goes down to the floor, is one we see a lot in more contemporary kitchens. Home and Gardens 2023 Top Kitchen Island Trends has also recognized the waterfall island countertop.

3. Natural Wood: The growing trend toward sustainability extends into kitchen design. This has led to an increase in natural wood being used on island cabinetry.

4. Overhangs with Columns Although it may sound stylistic, the overhang with supporting columns is also functional. Not only does it provide a place to tuck away chairs and stools, but it also protects cabinets below from spills and other wear.
